A two day (7-8 July 2023) workshop on bone and soft tissue tumors facilitated by Dr. Nasir Ud Din, AKUH and Maj Gen Dr. Hafeez Ud Din HI(M), AFIP was held in histopath department of AFIP. A range of giant cell lesions tumors of bone were discussed by Dr Nasir Ud Din. The participants included consultant radiologists from Armed Forces Institute of Radiology and Imaging Rawalpindi, who enlightened the house about radiological aspects of the lesions, followed by a presentation by Maj Gen Dr. Hafeez Ud Din HI(M) on soft tissue tumors, who dealt at length about histopathology, immunohistochemistry and molecular genetics (FISH) of these tumors aspects. It was attended by 55 participants which included consultant histopathologists and histopath registrars from various institutes and hospitals including Armed Forces, PIMS, Shifa International Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, Peshawar Medical College, Shalamar Hospital Lahore, Rehman Medical College Peshawar, Saidu Medical College Sawat, DHQ Hospital Rawalpindi and THQ Hospital Taxila.
The 62nd IAP-Thailand Annual Meeting 2023 that will be held in Bangkok, during 8th-10th November 2023. This is the first onsite meeting after the covid-19 pandemic. Up to 5 travel bursaries will be provided, including complimentary registration and 10,000 THB (290 USD) in cash, for trainees and young pathologists from low-resource countries (groups A and B as defined by WHO-HINARI website https://www.research4life.org/access/eligibility/).
