History:
A 43-year-old woman presented with a left parotid mass and underwent a left parotidectomy. Intraoperative frozen section was consistent with a salivary gland neoplasm, with a differential diagnosis that included both benign and malignant tumors. Gross examination showed a 1.8 cm solid, nodular mass. Immunohistochemistry showed that the neoplastic cells were positive for pancytokeratin, SOX-10, and DOG-1, and negative for p63, p40, S100, TTF-1, mammaglobin, and SMA.
